也许古代很好。那时经济和科学尚不旺盛，生活实际而单纯，内心的拓展面却抵达极限。这个极限是，一部五千字《老子》似已说尽一切，说透所有。古人何来此等大智慧。大智慧之外尚有好情趣。到处旅行，一路讲学一路收弟子，既与底层匠人艺人为伍，又热衷指导和劝说各国领袖。他们喝茶，下棋，在竹林里弹古琴，去高山白云处探访隐士，读经传，写诗文，与月亮也可共舞同醉。
那时的人，他们的价值观一定与我们现在不同。
现在的人，热衷以丑化搞怪为乐。喜欢快速廉价的方式。做大多数人都在做的事情，去热闹的地方。修炼自己是乏味的，到处骂人和发牢骚是有意思的。小聪明小才智以及拿姿做态是骄傲的，与人一颗清净谦卑的心是低处的。为功利忙碌是重要的，自足生活是次要的。诸子们在各自的时代里，也许都是寂寞的人。如果来到二十一世纪，看到自己的学说被活学活用，也一定不会后悔生活在一个没有电视机没有出版商的时代。真正卓越的人即使是被身处的时代所锻造，但同时却可以超越时代。时代是窑，思想是瓷器。瓷器保存得好，可以代代流传。窑很容易毁坏，也不重要。
国外也许也很好。但度假或者观光可以，几月或几年都不是界限。定居是不去的，即使生活会比较方便，人的心态也更开朗。为家里的小朋友买来儿童读物，读到“临深履薄，夙兴温清。似兰斯馨，如松之盛。川流不息，渊澄取映。容止若思，言辞安定”读到“佛经对仙语，夏耨对春耘。烹早韭，剪春芹，暮雨对朝云”我想，她会幸运自己出生在中国，生活在中国，能够学习到辉煌无比的汉字。只有中国的孩子才能看到这样大美的字，学习这种文化。祖传财富是多么宝贵。自己的国家是最骄傲的。
所以，可以去任何地方，也可以哪都不去。不要抱怨环境。不要逼问形势。不要苛求自己。一切其实只是随着自己的心在安定或动荡。身心坦然，可以四处安家。身心虚浮，哪里都不是家。
人要平和良善，拥有安全感，就要和心，和身体，和天地，和宇宙，和大道，一起和谐。个人是汇成大海的那一滴一滴小水珠。数群小水珠改变不了大海的方向。大海的波澜起伏却需依仗大群小水珠的状态。波涛平，大海开阔。波涛变，大海动容。只是做和谐的个人何其难。地铁站，一个售票员因为乘客拿不出零钱用一百元买票，就爆粗口辱骂对方。公立医院里，医生和护士对病人呼来喝去毫无尊重怜悯。个体若没有做到自我和谐，就会建立起一个庞大的不和谐的群体。而不和谐的最终形式是，人人觉得一切也许本该如此。
《礼记》里提到的大同社会，大道之行也，天下为公，选贤与能，讲信修睦。故人不独亲其亲，不独子其子，使老有所终，壮有所用，幼有所长，鳏寡孤独废疾者皆有所养，男有分，女有归。货恶其弃于地也，不必藏于己；力恶其不出于身也，不必为己
假设社会贫富分化的趋势继续深化，这样理想境界也只是古人心怀之中的良辰美景。富裕的人更富裕，贫穷的人更贫穷。怜悯救济不能解决问题。人性中的亲和慷慨也不是生来俱有。
曾有人说，这个时代有不少让人担忧的地方，选择做父母难道不会有害怕？对孩子来说，很现实的问题是，食物不安全，幼年吃到的是有太多添加剂的香甜奶粉和米粉，长大之后，竞争激烈，大多数人无法被指导建立稳定的信念和价值观。娱乐明星们风光，商界精英们成功。时尚杂志一边兜售广告一边灌输物质制造幸福的幻觉。儿童一学就会的不是唐诗三百首，而是电台播放的流行情歌。
在这样喧嚣刺激随波逐流的时代里，人若无法拥有属于自己的价值观，是一件痛苦的事情。他会追逐外物始终找不到自己。他一定也无法知道自己要去往哪里。
时代也许如前人所说，是一列火车。上车下车的人很多，身不由己。上了车，最后达到的总是同一个地方。生命是短暂的。坐火车的过程，并不是为了抵达那个目标。我们热烈执着地追求过的这个或那个，看起来盛大光荣，不过是分内或分外的事。重要的是当我们离开这个世界的时候，留在心里的记忆，以及对自己的一生检验之后的自我判断。
人的生活，最大的组成部分是情感，创造和付出。对父母的尊重，对孩子的抚育，对若干男性或女性曾经持有过的深刻爱慕，与自然的欣赏和共处之心，与悠悠岁月的并肩飞翔，对一些雕虫小技的爱好，写作，阅读，弹琴，听曲，绘画，园艺，电影，种种。帮助过别人。用手劳作，创造过财富。诸如此类的种种组成，对普通微小的个人来说，这就是他的生活。
因此，选择做父母是与时代无关的事情。选择要去往哪里也是一个可有可去的问题。
幸福一定是虚幻的，而生活真实无比。历历在目，血肉交织。人类已经为自己或他人的幻术付出太多牺牲。最终人度过生命的方式却如同唯一真理，劳作，吃饱，穿暖，创造，生死不过求一个平常欢喜。还能如何。
在一个社会里，心怀兼济天下是志向，但若没有余地，独善其身是根本。这是微小个人能做到的最底限的责任。融汇在时代的大海里，维续它的波澜壮阔，波涛起伏，与它共进退。
不要活在对未来的向往里，不要活在对远方的憧憬里，不要活在对幻术的期待中，不要活在对自我的背离中。真实自然地生活在当下，心安就是所在。

想起某部电影里的主角曾说过：与其说你要离开这里，不如说你想到另一个地方去。

只是，我常常想离开这里，却不知道我要到哪个地方去。明天，我会在哪里？
