difference lenovo original memory and kingston specific
hi,guys
I'm gonna update my laptop, there are two choise, one is lenovo original memory, 2g costs 90cad, another is kingston System Specific Memory (Lenovo),2g costs 80cad. What's the difference between them. Btw, right now I'm in Canada.

Don't think there is noticeable difference. Since lenovo itself is not a chip manufacturer nor a memory assembler, the so-called lenovo original memory is actually made by its OEMs, which may not even be competitive as Kingston. The Kingston KTL-TP*** memory is ThinkPad specific and is gauranteed to be compatible. Beyond this, the rest of concern is just the price.

it is not necessary to buy a original memory,,really.

it's not really a big deal to choose the kingston ram, normally, it's compatible to the Lenovo original one. I used to add a kingston ram with the one which is Lenovo original.
